I spent today at the Disney World (Magic Kingdom). I’m probably the worst person to take to theme park if you want to go on every ride. Why?
I love details.
I know I could spend majority of my time just walking down main street examining the typography of the signage for each store. But what caught my eye this time was the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Factory. It wasn’t the show itself. That hasn’t changed since the last time I was here. It the wallpaper.
They could have covered the walls with a plain blue background. Instead it’s covered with blue and a faint Monster’s Inc. logo. I’m sure there was an executive who ran a cost analysis of plain blue versus adding the logo, but somehow the right choice one out.
I’m always surprised when I go to Disney to see how well they do with the details. They don’t just get the work done, they find ways to make it the best work possible.
Details are what takes the work from getting done to being the best.
